My Dad, Andy:
My dad was an older dad. So I grew up with a father who had the habits of someone from an older era. Like his nightly indulgence of a “very” dry gin martini. Below you’ll find the recipe for his version of a perfect gin martini. Cheers!
Ingredients:

- Extra Dry Vermouth
- Dry Gin
- Cocktail shaker
- Ice
- Olives
- Martini glass
Instructions:
Step 1: Put ice into the cocktail shaker.

Step 2: Pour about 1/4 cup of dry gin into the shaker. (my dad was so experienced, he didn’t measure…)
Step 3: Pour a cap-full of extra dry vermouth into the shaker.

Step 4: Put 2-3 olives into your martini glass. This depends on your taste!
Step 5: Put top on shaker and shake for about 30 seconds.

Step 6: Pour contents of shaker into martini glass, straining out the ice.
Step 7: Take a drink!

Step 8: Enjoy with some music and good friends! My dad would recommend mariachi music…
We lost my dad on August 16th, 2022, at the age of 85. It brings me a lot of comfort that I was able to collect memories like this with him to share with you!
