For the Spring of Design Certificate Program through UVA Darden’s Executive Education, we consulted with Sitar Arts Center to address the needs of the youth aging out of their k-18 programs. We spent 12-weeks as Design Thinking consultants exploring the following question…

OUR QUESTION:

OUR RESEARCH:

We did observational research, conducted interviews, and more. Through this, we produced 16 Behavioral Insights and 4 Extreme User Posters.

OUR INSIGHTS:

With our quantitative and qualitative research completed, we went about creating 3 User Journey Maps and 6 Insight Statements to help us better understand the needs of our users.

OUR MIND MAPPING:

We bucketed our insights and began to brainstorm solutions at address the 7 key themes of obstacles, needs, and assets of our users.

OUR PROTOTYPES:

We developed 6 Prototypes of partnership models that would address the unique needs of our users.

OUR TESTS:

We conducted 2 surveys to test our assumptions. We also had 2 preliminary meetings with potential partners to evaluate their interest.

OUR SOLUTION:

In the end, we decided upon a placed-based partnership model which addressed all 7 of the key themes.

OUR PITCH:

On pitch night, we had 7 minutes to pitch our idea. We won the “People’s Choice Award” for best pitch!
